Dr. Kate Brown is a native of metro Atlanta. After working for an exotics veterinarian as an assistant in high school, she decided to become a veterinarian. She attended the University of Georgia where she received her bachelor's degree in Biological Science and, later, her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Gooooooo Dawgs! Dr. Brown has a special interest in preventative care, dentistry and companion exotic animal care. When she's not here at the hospital, Dr. Brown enjoys trail running, knitting and spending time with her husband, new baby boy, domestic short-haired cat Bethany and dog Wicket. Dr. Brown would love to see all of your pets- scaled, feathered or furred!

Dr. Christina Gaines-Washington

Veterinarian

Dr. Washington comes to us with a diverse background in Veterinary Medicine. She has been involved in everything from Vets without Borders to working at a 24-hr emergency/speciality hospital. She has lived and practiced in multiple states including New York, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, California and Georgia. Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Washington earned her Bachelors in Animal Science from Cornell University. While in Ithaca, NY she worked at a local animal shelter and facilitated the shelter transforming from a traditional shelter into a no-kill shelter. In 2007 she graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University located in St.Kitts. She completed her clinical rotation at Purdue University in Indiana.
Following graduation from vet school she was employed by Universal Ultrasound. At Universal Ultrasound she worked closely with Veterinary Radiologists and other specialists. Since 2007 she has been actively involved in ultrasound.
“I have always loved to travel. This love combined with my passion to help people and animals has provided me with wonderful opportunities to meet interesting people and experience new places.”
She has since settled into a somewhat less jet-setter lifestyle here in Atlanta with her husband Gregory, children: Kalani, Khyla and Kendric, their family dog Lila and Little bit her 20-something year old cat. She still loves to travel and spend time with her family.
