Dr. Kate Brown is a native of metro Atlanta. After working for an exotics veterinarian as an assistant in high school, she decided to become a veterinarian. She attended the University of Georgia where she received her bachelor's degree in Biological Science and, later, her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Gooooooo Dawgs! Dr. Brown has a special interest in preventative care, dentistry and companion exotic animal care. When she's not here at the hospital, Dr. Brown enjoys trail running, knitting and spending time with her husband, new baby boy, domestic short-haired cat Bethany and dog Wicket. Dr. Brown would love to see all of your pets- scaled, feathered or furred!
Prior to moving into practice management, Aaron spent the past 14 years working in veterinary medicine as a veterinary technician. Originally from Miami, he has spent most of his years working with pets that need it the most by assisting in emergency veterinary hospitals, feline specific hospitals and at Fulton County Animal Services...one of the busiest animal shelters in the country! Aaron currently resides in Dallas, Ga with his longtime girlfriend and three dogs -- Rilee, Bowser, and an old pug named Roxie. He also has a three-legged cat named Fiesty, two turtles and seven chickens, as well as many beehives. During his free time, Aaron can be found under the hood of his cars, in the kitchen making a delicious dish or out on the patio slow smoking some barbecue. Aaron is confident that the Animal Hospital of Dunwoody Village can provide the apex of veterinary care and looks forward to leading the team into the future.
Born and raised in Decatur, Ava has been in the veterinary field since 2003. Ava's career started as a kennel assistant where she persevered to become a veterinary nurse. Throughout her career, Ava has worked in multiple environments including shelter and holistic veterinary medicine. Ava joined the Animal Hospital of Dunwoody Village team in July of 2019. In the future, Ava intends to further her career by obtaining her RVT and CVPM licenses. Ava currently lives in south Atlanta with her dog Otis. In her free time, she enjoys snuggling with Otis, baking, and reading.
Shannon, a veterinary nurse specializing in dentistry, brings 25 years of experience to the Animal Hospital of Dunwoody Village. Moving to Atlanta from New York in 2013, she carries a true passion for veterinary medicine and advocating for those companions without a voice. She is a pet parent to rescued special needs kitty ‘Monkey’ who was found at 5 weeks old by the Chattahoochee River, and her hiking partner, mutt ‘Hurley’. In her spare time Shannon enjoys watching Alabama football, hiking and cooking.
A Dunwoody native (and local favorite) Alex grew up in the Dunwoody community and joined the Animal Hospital of Dunwoody Village in 2014. While finishing his Master's degree in Biology, Alex continued to work with us part-time in between his classes. When Alex is not at the hospital or school, he spends his free time watching movies or putting using his imagination during tabletop role-playing game sessions. Alex currently has 4 cats and dog which will greatly appreciate even more once Alex is accepted to veterinary school.
For over 2 years, Jenny has provided exceptional customer service at the Animal Hospital of Dunwoody Village. Prior to joining us, she worked in the childcare and administrative field for twelve years. Jenny currently lives in Decatur with her fiancé and 2 dogs, Denver and Savannah. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working on house projects, cooking, hiking and going to concerts and festivals.
We all know Linda!! Linda has filled multiple roles at the Animal Hospital of Dunwoody Village since joining us in 2014. Prior to being a general manager for over 14 years, Linda attended Auburn University where she earned her degree in Accounting. When Linda is not at the clinic, she enjoys reading, horseback riding, watching college and pro football. Linda also enjoys spending time with her friends and family. While she currently does not have any pets, she relishes the opportunity to spend time with all of the furry friends she sees while at work. Her absolute favorite breed is the Golden Retriever.
